Rails Girls Ruby on Rails Workshop

Greane Tree Technology President Annmarie Lanesey attended Rails Girls in Washington, DC on September 15 and 16 as part of an effort to bring the informative, inspiring, and fun event to the Capital District software community early next year. The workshop is an introduction to web development using Ruby on Rails.

The hands-on workshop began with an Installation Fest at which participants configured their computers for building a web application in Ruby on Rails. They received an introduction to fundamental concepts in user experience design, Rails syntax, and web application architecture. Then they built their own applications with guidance from experienced Rails developers. For those who want to follow along at home, visit the Rails Girls How To Guide to learn more about the workshop and find Ruby on Rails references.

If you are interested in sponsoring or helping to organize a Rails Girls event for the Albany area for early 2013, please let us know!
